What is the Instagram bug bounty program?

  I have an Instagram account. We know every application has its own bugs and they usually get fixed in the coming updates. But, what worries me is if Instagram has a security bug. Is it possible to get hacked on Instagram ? Has this ever happened? I also heard the ” Instagram bug bounty program” expression. What do you know about this? Does Instagram really employ hackers to hack into the Instagram website?
