Hi everyone,

All social media have their own effects on people’s relationships. Most couples argue with each other when their partner spends a lot of time on one of the social networks. They might also get worried that someone might hit on their partner, or their partner cheat on someone else. Crazy thoughts, right!? LOL. I was wondering if Twitter was no exception. Do you think Twitter has a positive or negative effect on relationships?

Hello Emma91, In my opinion all social media have more negative effect on people’s relationships that positive one. In addition, the results from a study suggest that active Twitter use leads to greater amounts of Twitter-related conflict among romantic partners, which in turn leads to infidelity, breakup, and divorce. This indirect effect is not contingent on the length of the romantic relationship.
