How can I see snapchat live stories of people without following them?

  Hey guys, If I don’t follow someone on snapchat, will I still be able to watch her live stories or not? I have been told by my mom that one of my relatives wants to create a live from her birthday which I want to watch it. But I don’t want to follow her on the app. Is this possible?
